Accessibility statement for Cecconi’s Website

Cecconi’s is committed to making their website accessible in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This accessibility statement applies to the different page templates tested on the Cecconi’s website.

This website is run by Cecconi’s. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings.
  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver).

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. We are actively working to resolve these issues and improve accessibility.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible, as detailed below:

·     PDF Menus: The PDF versions of the restaurant menus are not fully accessible or compatible with assistive technologies. Some documents are not properly tagged, causing elements to be announced incorrectly, such as menu items being read as headings. In some cases, the reading order in the PDFs differs from the visual layout, which would violate WCAG 1.3.1 and WCAG 2.4.3.

For the best experience with assistive technologies, we recommend accessing PDFs using Firefox or Adobe Acrobat Reader, as these platforms offer the highest level of accessibility support. While PDFs can be viewed in other browsers, the accessibility features may not function as effectively, potentially impacting the user experience.

Accessibility Improvement Roadmap

We are committed to addressing the accessibility issues identified in this statement. Here’s our roadmap for implementing changes:

  • Assess and consider replacing PDF menus with accessible HTML pages on the website.

We will update this statement regularly to reflect our progress and any new initiatives.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This accessibility statement was prepared following an evaluation of the website conducted by User Vision, a third-party accessibility consultancy. The audit was completed on 24/01/2025 using a combination of automated tools, manual techniques, and testing with assistive technologies on desktop and mobile platforms to ensure the website meets accessibility standards.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010. If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice and guidance.

The EASS can:

  • Provide advice on your rights under the Equality Act 2010.
  • Help you understand whether your complaint constitutes a breach of the Act.
  • Offer support in resolving your complaint, such as signposting to mediation or legal action if necessary.

Similarly, for users in the European Union, accessibility rights are protected under the European Accessibility Act (EAA). If you believe there has been a breach of the EAA which we have not addressed, you may contact relevant national authorities in your country, as listed on the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.

For users in the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures accessibility rights. If you believe that we have not addressed any violations to your rights under the ADA, you can file a complaint to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) on their official website.

Commitment to improvement

We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of our website and welcome feedback on how we can better meet the needs of our users.
